Hawke’s Bay Regional Investment Company Limited (HBRIC) is a council-controlled trading organisation wholly owned by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (HBRC). We exist to manage and grow Council’s investment assets, with returns contributing directly to Council’s core service delivery and offsetting the rates burden on the people of Hawke’s Bay.
HBRIC’s investment objectives, set by Council, are threefold:
to optimise long-term cash returns from the investment portfolio,
to increase asset values and grow regional resilience, and
to ensure equitable benefit from the portfolio for both current and future generations.
HBRIC operates a lean model consistent with the largely passive nature of our investment holdings, contracting in specialist expertise as and when needed.
